It’s noticeably thinner, as well, which is to say the the fifth-generation iPad will be smaller in every dimension than its predecessors. The changes are so considerable that a new screen technology, such as IGZO, seems like a given. Going Retina for the third-generation iPad forced Apple to make that tablet a little thicker than the iPad 2, in part to seriously beef up the battery. By contrast, this iPad 5 design is so much smaller that a full internal redesign—complete with a smaller, less power-hungry sequel to the A6X—can be safely assumed. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the new iPad remain roughly on par with the fourth-generation model in processing capabilities, with the improved screen, dramatically lower size, and reduced weight becoming the key selling points.

The second generation Padfone has been released by Asus in Taiwan. There is no doubt that it is an innovative product. Asus Padfone is still the only smartphone-tablet hybrid device from a mainstreem manufacturer until now. The dividing line between phone and tablet is more and more vague.

• Compared with the original, the new one is much lighter at 649g and does away with the Padfone Station Dock, the third component of the original Padfone which adds a keyboard. At the same time, the handset display size is lager, from 4.3 inch to 4.7 inch and the Super IPS+HD display make colors vibrant.
• The new Padfone 2 is also more powerful, sporting the new quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, supported by 2,140 mAh battery.
• For some strange reason, Asus decided to use a customized version of the micro-USB port of the Padfone 2 and Padfone 2 Station. While you can still use a normal micro-USB cable to charge (and it does seem secure), we noticed that you could wiggle the port (which may result in a freak accident and you snapping the cable/port.
• Speaking of the camera, it records 720p at a whopping 60fps, which is outstanding, and 1080p at 30fps, and can take up to 100 continuous full-resolution images.
• The Padfone 2 (main smartphone component) is priced at $616/$684/$750 for the 16GB/32GB/64GB version. Sadly, there isn’t a microSD card expansion slot. The Padfone Station add-on (the slate component) will retail for $307.

Samsung ATIV Tab is Coming with Microsoft Office 2013 on Windows RT Operating System

Samsung announced a new line of Win 8-based devices under the ATIV brand instead of Samsung Galaxy Note II as we expected. The products line includes smart PC, tablet, smartphone and display.

ATIV tablet comes with a 10.1 inch display with the resolution of 1366x768, while there is a 5 megapixel primary camera with 720p HD video recording plus a 1.9 megapixel sub camera on the front.

A standard storages are provided by Samsung , 2GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of flash plus a microSD slot.

In the side of connections, the ATIV Tab supports NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth plus GPS and GLONASS positioning systems, HSPA+42 connectivity, but it does not support 3G cellular data.
 
The new tablet runs Windows RT operating system. Windows RT is a version of Windows 8 that runs on ARM processors which sits between the mobile and desktop versions of Windows 8. It is different from the other platforms. As a result, MS Office 2013 Home and Student editions are preinstall on it. It's really a good new for those who like working on tablets. It's no longer a difficult thing to create, edit and view office documents, such as powerpoint presentation with animations.

Another difference is, this tablet comes with USB 2.0 port and micro-HDMI ports and supported devices that plug into these ports should work automatically without the need for extra software.

The bigger 10-inch Kindle Fire 2 is reportedly codenamed "Hollywood" which will be based on the Nvidia Tegra 3, bringing a screaming quad-core processor with a 500% performance increase.

Additionally, the device is said to include a HDMI-out port, front-facing camera, and a microUSB port. Sources say that the e-reader will display at a 1280 x 800 resolution, and will now have a metal casing around its body.

The new Kindle Fire will be priced at the same level as the current Kindle Fire, $199. Then, the old model may drops to $149.

First Look of Samsung Galaxy Note II is on IFA

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is coming in these days. "We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on Aug. 29," said a spokesperson for the company to Reuters. The release date of Galaxy Note II is at 7 p.m. local time in Berlin just two days before IFA officially kicks off.

Documents To Go supports view native Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files & attachments with Documents To Go Main App, while file formats are including .doc,. docx,. xls,. xlsx,. ppt,. pptx. It can edit the files, as well as format text font, color, size, and style, and has other features common to office suite software. It's enough for daily work.

For further requirements, Documents To Go is still less than Microsoft Office. It can't show animations and embedded medias in original Microsoft PowerPoint documents. If you want to achieve this, convert presentation to video, and keep everything the same in output video.
