Intel Launches Ultrabooks to Compete with iPad and MacBook

intel Ultrabooks
Intel has unveiled design guidelines for a new category of thin-and-light laptops, dubbed "Ultrabooks", that take cues from Apple's iPad and MacBook Air.

Intel executives detailed the new designs at the Computex trade show, Engadget reports. Ultrabooks will marry the performance and capabilities of a laptop with "tablet-like features" in a "thin, light and elegant design," Executive Vice President Sean Maloney said in a statement.

The first Ultrabooks will utilize the current-generation Sandy Bridge architecture, but, beginning in the first half of 2012, Intel plans to transition Ultrabooks to the next-generation "Ivy Bridge" processors.

The first Ultrabook laptops will arrive in time for the 2011 holiday shopping season, Intel said. ASUS will be one of the initial launch partners of the Ultrabook specification with the UX21 Ultrabook.

Pundits expressed skepticism at the new Ultrabook design, calling it a "makeover" of the struggling netbook category. They also noted that, several years ago, Intel attempted to introduce a thin-and-light specification called Ultra-Low Voltage, but the category failed to catch on. However, Intel says it has learned from its mistakes. "We really didn't get behind marketing [ULV]," said Thomas Kilroy, senior vice president and general manager of Intel's sales and marketing group. Ultrabooks will receive "a massive campaign by Intel in 2012," he said.

The new category closely resembles Apple's own vision for "the future of the MacBook:" the MacBook Air. CEO Steve Jobs said last year that the design team for the newly redesigned ultra-thin portable had drawn from popular features on the iPad, such as instant-on capability and battery standby time.

Too much chaotic mayhem and lowbrow humor makes this sequel still entertaining but far less entertaining than the original. Also, the level of violence is much greater than its first part, recommended for kids 8 and older.
The sequels also enjoys technical details such as the texture of Tigress’ fur and the intense detail in the feathers of the villainous peacock Shen, are remarkable. the film’s most impressive upgrade is the richness of its emotion, which elevates every other element to create a near-perfect summer movie experience. “Animated” and “sequel” labels be damned, Kung Fu Panda 2 stands on its own, a “real” movie with real appeal for everyone.

Convert PowerPoint to Sidekick 4G

samsung logoSamsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile), the No. 1 mobile phone provider in the U.S., today announced the results of the company’s T-Mobile® Sidekick® 4G by Samsung “Kick it with the Band” – a competition designed to highlight some of the country’s best undiscovered musical talent on the verge of stardom. Based on the excitement and success of the program, Samsung Mobile made all nine participating groups and artists winners by awarding them marketing budgets coinciding with their rank to help push their music careers to new heights.

It's an activity to broaden Sidekick brand.

sidekick 4g

The Sidekick 4G is aimed at the younger set, and the fun, colorful design definitely reflects that.It has a white battery cover with black around the edges of the display and keyboard. A surprise pop of magenta behind the display, exposed only when you slide out the keyboard, gives the phone a playful look. The more serious-looking version is all black with a gray panel behind the display.

The 3.5-inch, WVGA, 800-by-480-pixel display was pretty responsive and showcased the user interface nicely. It isn’t the most high-res display, but video and pictures looked sharp and animations moved smoothly.

This is really a smartphone with strong entertainment functions. Have you ever thought that how I can view office documents on Sidekick 4G, maybe put powerpoint on it? Just convert powerpoint to video with original sounds, videos and animations with PowerPoint to Video Converter.

Add Music in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010

Related Articles:

audio in powerpoint logoA PowerPoint presentation can convey a lot of information in a short time. That information is usually in the form of text, graphics, charts, and tables, but it might also consist of audio content.Audio or background music is necessary in an excellent PowerPoint presentation. You can easily incorporate sounds into slide transitions.

MIDI file.mid or .midiMP3 Audio file.mp3

How to add audio into powerpoint 2010?
Insert > Audio and then open the audio clip. However, when it comes to adjusting the audio, the option you might be looking for can be difficult to find.

In a perfect world, you would be able to make adjustments to an audio clip by either right-clicking a slide's sound icon, or by using the Audio Tools. And for some things, these techniques work. For instance, if you need to trim the audio, select the audio clip on the slide and choose Audio Tools Playback > Trim Audio

But what if you wanted to stop the audio after three slides? What if you wanted the audio to play across all of the slides, but you don't want the audio to start until you click? You won't find these options among the Audio Tools or by right-clicking the audio icon. For these tasks, you'll need to use the Animations tab. Even then, the options are buried.

How to Specify When Music Playing Across Multiple Slides Will Stop
  1. Select the icon for the sound file on your slide.
  2. From the Animations tab, locate the Effect Options button and click the More Arrow below it to Show Additional Effect Options.

The More Arrow in PowerPoint 2010

The Play Audio dialog box will appear.
  3. Ensure the Effect tab is selected, and from the Stop playing section, select After and then use the up and down arrows in the slides field to indicate for how many slides the audio should play.
How to Start Music that Plays Across All Slides On-Click
  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above.
  2. Select the Timing tab.
  3. From the Start drop-down menu select On Click.
  4. From here you have two options. If you would like the sound to play by clicking anywhere on the screen, say after a title appears, then select Animate as part of click sequence. Just be sure if you select this option, that you properly arrange the sound on the Custom Animation pane so that it begins in the desired order. If you do not want the sound to start at a specific time, but rather by clicking a specific object, select Start effect on click of and then choose the object that will trigger the sound from the drop-down menu.

Note: If you would like to be able to click the sound icon on your slide during the presentation to start the audio, select the Audio Settings tab and ensure that Hide audio icon during slide show is not selected. It will, after all, be difficult to click the sound icon if you can't see it.

Insert, Play, and Modify Sounds in PowerPoint 2007

Related Articles:

powerpoint and audioSound effects, such as music and voice recordings, can add another level of professionalism to your slide presentations. Music is an effective way to introduce or end a presentation and it gives your audience something to listen to as they enter and leave the presentation room. You could play a movie theme song as background music for several slides, or play a voice recording that contains advertising slogans to insert on a single slide, for example.

FILE FORMATEXTENSION FILE FORMATEXTENSION
AIFF Audio file.aiffAU Audio file.au
MIDI file.mid or .midiMP3 Audio file.mp3
Windows Audio file.wavWindows Media Audio file.wma

How to insert, play, and modify sounds in PowerPoint 2007?

You can insert the following types of sounds on slides:

1. Audio files. You can insert an audio file by clicking the Sound button in the Media Clips group on the Insert tab, and then selecting the file.

2. Sound clips. The sound clips that ship with PowerPoint 2007 include applause and a ringing telephone. You insert a sound clip by clicking the Sound arrow in the Media Clips group on the Insert tab, and then clicking Sound From Clip Organizer to display the Clip Art task pane, where you select the sound you want. If you are connected to the Internet, clicking the Clip Art On Office Online link in the task pane takes you to the Clip Art and Media page of the Office Online Web site, from which you can download hundreds of clip art images, photos, sounds, and videos.

3. CD audio tracks. You can insert music tracks or other audio tracks from a CD into a slide. After inserting the CD in your CD-ROM drive, you click the Sound arrow in the Media Clips group and then click Play CD Audio Track to display the Insert CD Audio dialog box. You then enter the starting and ending track numbers. You can specify that the selection be repeated, and you can set the volume. To play the tracks during a slide show, the CD must be in the CD-ROM drive.

4. Recorded sounds. You can record a sound or narration and attach it to a slide, all from within PowerPoint.

While inserting a sound, you can specify whether it should play automatically when the slide containing it appears or only when you click its icon. The sound object appears on the slide represented by an icon indicating the type of sound. You can change the appearance and size of the icon and move it to meet your needs.

When the sound object is selected, PowerPoint adds Format and Options contextual tabs to the Ribbon. You can format the icon representing the sound in much the same way that you would format a picture. You can adjust its size, position, and volume; specify whether the icon is displayed on the slide; and specify how the sound is activated.

To play a sound, you must have a sound card and speakers installed. In Normal view, you can test the sound associated with a particular slide by double-clicking the sound icon, or by selecting the icon and clicking the Preview button in the Play group on the Options contextual tab. In Slide Show view, the sound plays either automatically or when you click its icon, depending on your specifications.

Add Music in Microsoft PowerPoint 2003

Related Articles:
A PowerPoint presentation can convey a lot of information in a short time. That information is usually in the form of text, graphics, charts, and tables, but it might also consist of audio content.Audio or background music is necessary in an excellent PowerPoint presentation. You can easily incorporate sounds into slide transitions.

How to insert music into PowerPoint 2003?
Use one of the following three methods to insert the sound clip:

1. To browse through the Clip Organizer for a sound clip, on the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Sound from Clip Organizer.

PowerPoint will display the Clip Art task pane and will select Sounds in the Results Should Be drop-down list. You can use the Clip Art task pane to locate a sound clip stored on your computer or on the Office Online Web site.

2. To insert a sound clip from an existing sound file on a local disk, a shared network location, or an Internet site (if you haven’t imported the file into the Clip Organizer), on the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Sound from File.

The Insert Sound dialog box will appear. Select the sound file that you want, and then click the OK button.

3. To record your own sound clip (you must have a microphone attached to your computer) and add it to the slide, on the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sound, and then click Record Sound.

PowerPoint will display the Record Sound dialog box. Use the controls in this dialog box to record your sound and then click the OK button.

How to modify the way the sound clip plays during a slide show?

1. Right-click the sound icon in your slide.
2. To adjust the volume or change the sound object display options, on the shortcut menu, click Edit Sound Object and then select the options you want.

The Sound Options dialog box also indicates where the clip is stored. If it’s stored within the presentation file, the dialog box will display the location Contained In Presentation. If it’s stored in a separate linked file, it will display the file path. (PowerPoint normally stores a sound clip in a separate file if it’s larger than 100 KB.) In the latter case, if you are going to present your slide show on another computer, you’ll need to take the linked file with you.

Tip: The easiest way to copy a presentation plus all linked files to a portable medium that you can bring to another computer is to use the new Package for CD feature.

3. To modify the way the sound clip plays during a slide show, on the shortcut menu, click Custom Animation, and then use the controls in the Custom Animation task pane.

4. To control the action that takes place when you either click the sound icon or move the mouse pointer over it, on the shortcut menu, click Action Settings.

5. To preview the sound clip, on the shortcut menu, click Play Sound.

Barnes & Noble's New Nook to be Unveiled On May 24th

Barnes & NobleBarnes & Noble plans to release a new e-reader on May 24th.

Original Nook came out in November 2009 at $149, and awards Best Selling E-reader 2010.
nook
The Nook Color has only been out since last November and recently was updated to Android 2.2 (Froyo), which enabled Flash support. Barnes & Noble also launched an app store for the Nook Color as part of that update.

It's true, the Nook Color doesn't offer the processing power of some competing tablets such as the iPad 2, Motorola Xoom, or Samsung's Galaxy Tab, but the Nook Color's affordable $249 price tag has played a large role in its success, and Barnes & Noble probably won't refresh the Nook Color with more powerful components until the fall.

nook color
But, it has struggled to keep up with the leaner and slightly less expensive Kindle that features the latest generation e-ink display (Pearl) and double the battery life. So, Barnes & Noble finally will be replacing its lower priced e-ink e-reader, which has had major trouble competing with the third-generation Kindle in recent months.

We suspect that in building the new Nook, Barnes & Noble has been more cost-conscious because it knows that Amazon will most likely drop the price of the Kindle with Special Offers to $99 this holiday season and a Wi-Fi-only version e-ink Nook will have to approach that price to compete. That may mean Barnes & Noble will do away with the small color LCD and touch navigation system that has become the Nook's signature. We hope that Barnes & Noble moves to a full touch-screen system similar to the one that Sony now offers in its Reader line and really shrinks the size and weight of the device.

We should know more soon--May 24 is only a few weeks off--but in the meantime, let us know what you'd like to see from a new e-ink Nook.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is Coming on May 26th in US

sony ericsson
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, known as the PlayStation phone, is set to hit Verizon Wireless on May 26th. It will sell for $199.99 with two-year contract. Preorders will begin on May 19 through verizonwireless.com.

The Xperia Play is the first "PlayStation certified smartphone," and will allow owners to download games for the device through both Google's Android Marketplace and Verizon's V Cast app store. Seven games will come pre-loaded on the phone in the U.S.: Madden NFL 11, Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, The Sims 3, Star Battalion, Crash Bandicoot and Tetris. More than 50 other games will be available via V Cast when the phone launches, Sony said.

xperia play

Though mobile gaming is nothing new, using the touch screens on today's smartphones has presented some challenges for serious game play. Sony Ericsson hopes to make the task easier by offering physical buttons on the phone that emulate the PlayStation's controls, including four-way directional pads, a central touch pad, left and right shoulder buttons, and Select and Start keys.

xperia play

The device runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and features a 4-inch multi-touch screen, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and VGA front-facing camera for video chat. Gaming controls include 4-way directional buttons and AB keys for smartphone navigation as well as for multi-key gaming commands.

It is powered by a Snapdragon, 1-GHz CPU and the Adreno 205 graphical processor, optimized for advanced gaming and allowing 60 frames per second play-back. It comes with 8GB of available space, which can be increased to 32GB. The Xperia Play supports Adobe Flash Player and its mobile hotspot capability can share a 3G connection with up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

View PowerPoint Presentation on Motorola Droid X2

Motorola Logo
Motorola Droid X2 is going to be launched on May 26th, 2011 according to information on internet, though Verizon hasn't given the Motorola Droid X2 an official release date.

Motorola Droid X2 is a follow-up to the original Motorola Droid X which was released in July of last year and immediately sold out. Amazon listed it as a best-seller during Cyber Monday last year. Motorola Droid X is one of Verizon's most popular phones so it's no surprise that Verizon has decided to release a successor. This successor is Droid X2.

Now that ten months have passed, the Droid X2 will deliver a much-needed spec boost, with a 1 GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor, a qHD display with 960-by-540 resolution, and HDMI mirror mode. Like the original Droid X, the new model will have 8 GB of on-board storage, but it'll also include an 8 GB microSD card preinstalled, compared to 2 GB in the old model. Strangely, the Droid X2 will still lack a front-facing camera. It'll likely run Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Motorola's Blur interface on top.

A part of Motorola Droid X2 Specs
Networks: CDMA 800 and 1900
Operating system: Android 2.2/2.3 – Froyo/Gingerbread
Display: 4.3-inch qHD Display (540 x 960)
Camera: 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash
Memory: 512MB of RAM, 2GB of internal storage
WLAN: 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n Wi-Fi
Bluetooth: Bluetooth 2.1 w/EDR
GPS: A-GPS
Battery: Unknown
Special features: Droid-branding, high-resolution screen, dual-core processor
Chipset: 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor

Though I have't got more details about this successor, the form factor is identical to the original.

Motorola Droid X2 is a smartphone based on Android. Just like a pocket computer, Droid X2 can be used to deal with many things. How could you process documents? As an office man, you can check email on it. Attachment and browser document viewer supports Microsoft Office and PDF.

But, it's inconvenient if you just want to show powerpoint presentation to others, cause you need to login and look for the special email. What ever, viewing powerpoint in email window is not comfortable. Since this smartphone has a large screen, you can view powerpoint on Motorola Droid X2 by converting ppt to video, keeping original music, video, and animations.

View, Open, Edit and Save PowerPoint 2010 in PowerPoint 2003 or Earlier

How to view PowerPoint 2010 in PowerPoint 2003? How to save PowerPoint 2010 as an old version format? How to edit PowerPoint 2010 in PowerPoint 2003 or ealier?

Microsoft Office has been updated for a long time. But if you have only installed the old version of MS Office and don't want to update it, or you need to view PowerPoint 2010 on computers which only install PowerPoint 2007 or earlier, this article will help you.

How to view PowerPoint 2010/2007/2003 or earlier version without PowerPoint installed?
If you do not have Microsoft PowerPoint installed on your computer, you can still open and view PowerPoint presentations by using PowerPoint Viewer. It's free. All transitions, videos and effects appear and behave the same when viewed using PowerPoint Viewer as they do when viewed in PowerPoint. With PowerPoint Viewer, you can open, view and print presentations, but you cannot edit them.

This download works with presentations created in Microsoft PowerPoint 97 and later.

Save PowerPoint 2010 presentations in PowerPoint 97-2003 format
1. In PowerPoint 2010, open the presentation that you want to save as a PowerPoint 97-2003 file.
2. Click the File tab.
3. Click Save As.

4. In the File name box, enter a name for your presentation, or do nothing to accept the suggested file name.
5. In the Navigation bar, select the location that you want to save your presentation to, or do nothing to accept the suggested location.
6. To the right of Save as type, click PowerPoint Presentation, and select PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation.
7. Click Save. The file is saved as a PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation (.ppt) file that you can open in PowerPoint 97 through 2003.

How ot open, edit and save your PowerPoint 2010 in PowerPoint 2003 or earlier?

To open, edit, and save your PowerPoint 2010 presentation in PowerPoint 2003 or earlier without first saving it in another file format, you can download the Microsoft Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

On the computer that has a version of PowerPoint earlier than PowerPoint 2007 installed, do the following:

1. Navigate to the Microsoft Office Downloads and Updates Web site.
2. Download the Microsoft Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

After you install the updates and converters, all PowerPoint 2010 presentations that you open are automatically converted so that you can edit and save them.

Determine whether a PowerPoint 2010 presentation is compatible with PowerPoint 2003 or earlier?

To ensure that you can open your Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 presentation in PowerPoint 2003 or earlier, and to minimize significant losses of functionality and fidelity, you can run the Compatibility Checker in PowerPoint 2010. The Compatibility Checker finds potential compatibility issues between PowerPoint 2010 and earlier versions of PowerPoint, and creates a report to help you resolve any issues.

To run the Compatibility Checker, do the following:
1. In PowerPoint 2010, open the presentation that you want to check for compatibility.
2. Click the File tab.
3. Click Info.
4. To the left of Prepare for Sharing, click Check for Issues, and then select Check Compatibility.
5. To learn about the messages that the Compatibility Checker returns, see Compatibility Checker.

Tips: PowerPoint 97-2003 does not recognize SmartArt graphics and newer visual objects that are available in PowerPoint 2010 and will convert them to bitmaps to maintain their appearance. You cannot change certain aspects of bitmaps, such as line width, fill color, and other PowerPoint 2010 specific properties.
